We already have a number of councillors, as well as local environment transport and community groups, on board. Come along to our first public meeting to hear transport experts talk about what needs to happen in Yarra and nut out some practical ideas we can put into action.<br /><br /><em>Public Meeting</em><br />Date: Thursday 5th May<br />Time: 7.00pm to 8.30pm<br />Where: Fitzroy Bowling Club (578 Brunswick St, North Fitzroy)<br />Purpose: To inaugurate a Yarra Sustainable transport coalition, which will campaign for:<br /><br />* Local improvements to make sustainable transport easier to use in Yarra e.g. maintenance of our tram stops, more frequent trains, better signage, continuous bike lanes, fast pedestrian lights.<br /><br />* Public control of public transport, and a single, integrated State transport planning agency.<br /><br />* "Go anywhere, anytime" expanded and integrated public transport, walking and cycling infrastructure and services.<br /><br />* A moratorium on metropolitan freeway/tollway-building and freeway/tollway-planning until we have achieved the above.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/12005013-111292086334030327?l=sustainabletransport.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14468525346795325275noreply@blogger.com
